To sign Harry Maguire, a defender for Manchester United, West Ham United has reached an agreement.
West Ham United reportedly made an offer of £30 million for Maguire on Monday, and that offer has since been accepted, according to The Athletic.
After selling Declan Rice to Arsenal for £105 million, David Moyes’ team is looking for reinforcements, and Maguire will be hoping to resurrect his career after falling out of favor under Erik ten Hag.
The 30-year-old played in just 16 Premier League games last season because Victor Lindelof, Raphael Varane, and Lisandro Martinez were preferred in the center of defense.
The captaincy of Manchester United was also removed from the England international earlier this summer.
According to reports, Maguire, whose deal with United runs through 2025, wanted to stay and compete for a spot at Old Trafford, but England manager Gareth Southgate suggested that Maguire’s lack of playing time at United might have an effect on his international career.
Following the signings of Andre Onana, Mason Mount, and Rasmus Hojlund, the club is looking to offload players this summer. Maguire moved to United from Leicester for £80 million in the summer of 2019.
A £30 million offer from West Ham for Manchester United midfielder Scott McTominay was turned down.
However, they have agreed to a new £30 million deal with Southampton and are expected to sign James Ward-Prowse.
Relatively, after Andre Onana conceded a goal from halfway over the weekend against Athletic Club Bilbao, Twitter users trolled the goalkeeper who seems so confident in himself, plays the ball from the back and loves to come out of his post to initiate attack.
Speaking to MUTV after the game, the Red Devils new goalkeeper took responsibility for the goal the team conceded.
“I am responsible for everything especially when we concede goals. I’m the big man at the back so I take all the criticism, all the pressure on me,” he said.
