The Women’s Organizer for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Ashanti Region’s Kumawu Constituency has been sacked.
Madam Akua Afriyie was fired for openly endorsing Alan Kojo Kyeremanten, a candidate for the party’s flagbearer position, who is a member of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
She claims that shortly after the video of her endorsing Alan during the Kumawu by-election went viral, she was fired.
She had made it known to everyone that, despite being a member of the NDC, she would gladly support Alan if the NPP put him forward as their candidate for the 2024 elections. At that time, she claimed that Alan had a vision that could save this nation and inspire the thronging youth.
Akua Afriyie claims that after receiving a letter of dismissal, she is now a floating voter.
“I am currently not a member of the NDC or a member of the NPP but l am a strong supporter of Mr. Kyerematen.”
She has warned that she Akua will simply skip the 2024 elections if the NPP denies Mr. Kyerematen the chance to lead the party.
In connection with this, Alan Kyeremanten has revealed that, if chosen as the NPP’s flagbearer, he will receive two million votes in the Ashanti Region.
According to him, the party needs two million votes from the Ashanti Region alone in order to win the 2024 elections and he is the only person who can help the party win those votes.
He claimed that the NPP would suffer greatly if he is not chosen as its flagbearer for the 2024 elections because Ghanaians favor him over the other contenders.
Meanwhile, in the NDC parliamentary primary for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, Fred Nuamah was running against John Dumelo.
He has stated that his relationship with Dumelo led to his decision to withdraw from the race.
Mr. Nuamah has claimed that his political aspirations have caused him to lose his brother, and he is not happy about this.
The movie producer said it was crucial for him to act right away to mend their friendship during a Dwaso Nsem interview on Adom FM.
