Meeting Murtala Mohammed, the MP for Tamale Central, and Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, the MP for Ablekuma West, was a touching reunion.

The two were a part of a group of lawmakers who attended Alhassan Suhuyini’s mother’s funeral along with the MP for Tamale North.

Murtala and Ursula put their differences aside and exchanged handshakes and smiles while posing for photos.

The MP who also serves as the Minister of Communication posted pictures from the noteworthy occasion on her Facebook page.

Given that they got into a heated argument in parliament a few weeks ago during the passage of the anti-LGBTQ bill, their actions have won the admiration and praise of many Ghanaians.

The Second Deputy Speaker, who was seated, called out Mr. Mohammed and requested that he retract a comment that was deemed to be out of bounds.

Infuriated by the development, Mrs. Owusu-Ekuful claimed the lawmaker had referred to her as an LGBTQ activist, which Mr. Murtala vehemently denied.

She erupted and denounced all other lawmakers who, in her opinion, had heard the remark but had shown no sign of responding.

In other news, among the ten candidates, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the most qualified to be chosen as the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) flagbearer, according to Dan Botwe, Member of Parliament for the Okere Constituency.

Dan Botwe, a former general secretary of the NPP, said he knows and loves the other candidates but that choosing Dr. Bawumia as the party’s flagbearer is the best tactical move for the party while speaking to party stakeholders in the Okere Constituency on Sunday as part of Dr. Bawumia’s campaign tour of the Eastern Region.

On Sunday, Dr. Bawumia began his tour of the Eastern Region.
