The Chief Executive Officer Of Kantanka Automobile, Nana Kwadwo Safo has denied being contacted by Kwabena Peprah – a member of the Wanderlust Ghana tourism enthusiasts who embarked on the 10,000KM road trip from Accra to London.
This comes after Peprah indicated that “we flirted with almost every major car dealer in Ghana, and they all literally told us to fork off. Tsigliwigliadzi Kormetorkpor Ometahidior tried to bring in Kantanka so we promote “made” in Ghana, but the CEO wouldn’t even meet with us.
“We decided to go with whichever vehicles we had at the time, so we selected July 25, 2020, as the departure date.”
In a sharp response, the CEO said, “Was never contacted ooo. Hmm. A few heads will roll since it’s a Monday. This is something I would have loved to be part of.”
The team of twelve men and one woman has set out on an epic journey from Ghana to the UK. Covering a staggering 10,000 kilometers, their mission is clear – to drive from Accra to London while enjoying the experience.
Their estimated arrival in London was slated for Sunday, August 6, or Monday, August 7, 2023, marking a historic accomplishment for the team.
Speaking from Spain in an interview on Accra-based Peace FM, one of the team members known as Saka, shared their motivation for embarking on this extraordinary journey.
He explained that they were inspired by stories of people traveling from foreign countries to Ghana and other African nations.
They decided to turn the tables and attempt this adventure as a fun activity, showcasing their adventurous spirit and passion for exploration.
“We are explorers and we are doing this for fun. We read about people driving from Europe to Ghana all the time, and we also planned to do it and we are almost there,” one of the explorers said.
