    Social Media Reacts After André Onana Conceded Halfway Goal Against RC Lens

    Social media is buzzing after Andre Onana conceded a halfway line goal as Manchester United defeated Ligue 1 side RC Lens in a club friendly at Old Trafford.

    Onana has topped Twitter trends once again this afternoon after a team error led to RC Lens taking the lead just 23 minutes into the first half of the club friendly game.

    The Cameroonian stopper has become a target for social media trolls following his move from Inter Milan to Man United to replace David de Gea who left the club after ten Hag refused to sanctioned his contract renewal as the manager wanted a ball playing goalkeeper – a skill De Gea lacked.

    Onana made things worse for himself when he yelled at Harry Maguire recently after the defender mistake almost cost a goal a few days ago.

    The viral video of Onana shouting at Maguire after saving the team from the defender’s nightmare received a lot of criticisms from social media users and football fans for disrespecting Maguire in that manner.

    With that aside, social media users are dragging Onana again after a defensive error which led to RC Lens player Sotoca scoring a halfway line stunner to open the scoreline of the game.

    Following the goal, Twitter users have started trolling the goalkeeper who seems so confident in himself, plays the ball from the back and loves to come out of his post to initiate attack.

    Meanwhile, Manchester United saved themselves from the embarrassment as they came back strong and turned things around in the second half.

    Three goals from Marcus Rashford, Antony and Casemiro sealed a resounding a victory over RC Lens.

    However, Onana somehow redeemed himself of the troll after he pulled a stunning save to deny RC Lens from getting a second in the 88th minute.

    This win becomes the 4th pre-season victory in 7 club friendly games for Man United. Tomorrow the Manchester United will finish their pre-season games as they face Athletic Club from Spain.

    Relatively, Manchester United officially announced Rasmus Hojlund signing before kick-off at Old Trafford. Hojlund who signed a five year plus option to extend walked into the pitch in front of supporters.

    Hojlund becomes the third player to be unveiled at Old Trafford prior to a game after Raphael Varane and Casemiro both against Leeds United and Liverpool respectively.
