Here is a list of 10 famous celebrities whose stars on the illustrious Hollywood Walk of Fame were damaged for various reasons.

    • Mariah Carey

Mariah Carey was honored with a star on the Walk of Fame in 2015 for her work in the music business. She was caught lip syncing during a bad performance at a New Year’s Eve performance in 2017, and her star was vandalized a week later.

    • John Lennon

John Lennon, a well-known member of the Beatles, had his star vandalized by what appeared to be fans who scrawled messages in various ink colors. The Hollywood Walk of Fame’s Ana Martinez was notified of the incident, and shortly after that, the star’s original appearance was returned.

    • Donald Trump

Since it was given to him in 2007, Donald Trump‘s star on the Walk of Fame has been vandalized numerous times. The most recent incident was documented in 2017, when James Otis hacked it to pieces with a pickaxe and removed the brass medallion from the center.

Otis was given a three-year probationary period as well as 20 days of community service with the California Department of Transportation. He was also told to pay $700 to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce and $3,700 to the Hollywood Historic Trust.

    • Bob Marley

In 2017, 16 years after receiving one, it was discovered that Bob Marley‘s star had been harmed. There were numerous dents in the star that gave the impression that it had been struck with a sledgehammer. Two days later, the star was fixed for $3,000 by the Hollywood Historic Trust.

    • Hugh Hefner

Hugh Hefner, publisher of “Playboy,” passed away on September 27, 2017, and a blue crayon crown was added above his name on the Walk of Fame the following day. A Walk of Fame spokesperson said that the cost of the star’s repair would be the responsibility of the offender, who has yet to be identified.

    • Bill Cosby

The public’s perception of the formerly adored TV father figure was shattered as a result of the accusations that he drugged and assaulted several women. His star, which was given to him in 1977, has been vandalized numerous times, and those who did so have expressed their less than complimentary opinions of the late actor.

    • Sofia Vergara

While Vergara and her ex-husband Joe Manganiello were attending the Hollywood premiere of “Magic Mike XXL,” protesters vandalized her celebrity. In reference to the actor’s refusal to either implant or destroy embryos that she and her ex-husband, Nick Loeb, had frozen, those responsible wrote “#embryodefense.” A Louisiana judge ruled the embryos are “California citizens” and his court lacks jurisdiction, ending Loeb’s legal fight. When the embryos were frozen in 2013, the ex-couple agreed that neither could use the embryonic material to conceive a child without the other’s approval.

    • Harry Houdini

From the time of its unveiling in 1975 until Halloween night in 2000, the renowned magician’s star was unaltered. Before other well-known magicians banded together to pay for its repair, a mysterious crack suddenly appeared. In October 2008, Houdini’s star was unveiled for the second time.

    • Ed McMahon

The game show host and announcer who was honored with a Walk of Fame star in 1986 witnessed his artwork being vandalized by a dark substance that looked like paint or tar. The mess was quickly cleaned up thanks to the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce, but the reason for the landmark’s vandalism is still unknown.

    • Mary-Kate And Ashley Olsen

Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen are well-known twins who share a star but frequently wear fur in public, upsetting some people in the community. Vandals defaced their Walk of Fame star by writing “Fur Hags.”
