Any New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer candidate who can bring the party together and win the 2024 presidential election for the party will have the support of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, the president of Ghana.
He claims that in order to win the general election in 2024, the party delegates must forge an effective, united front that is both strong and formidable.
He stated on Tweet that he would back a presidential candidate who could defeat John Mahama, the National Democratic Congress (NDC)’s (perennial NDC presidential candidate), for the third time in a row.
The tweet read, “I have just one vote, the same as any polling station executive anywhere in the country, and I will cast that vote for an aspirant who, I believe, can best unite the Party, and, above all, who can win the presidential election of 7th December 2024, and inflict a third successive defeat on the perennial NDC Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama.“

Additionally, he denied claims that the government has backed Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia wholeheartedly in the presidential primary contest.
He asserted that the allegations are untrue and maliciously made.
A member of the Alan Kyeremanten Campaign Team named Richard Nyamah had earlier claimed that President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo was plotting to install Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the party’s leader.
He claimed that Bawumia will be forced to lead the NPP in the general elections of 2024 by President Nana Addo
Richard Nyamah, a spokesman for Alan’s Campaign, suggested that since everything is clear and there is proof, President Nana Addo need not publicly express his support for the vice president.
In a related news, Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia called for a moral and upstanding campaign in the NPP ahead of its presidential primary elections. He referred to the election as a “family contest.”
He claimed that according to UP tradition, each of the nine candidates comes from the same ancestral roots.
As a result, he advised his followers to refrain from verbally disparaging other candidates for the party’s leadership in the upcoming election, whether directly or indirectly.
Dr. Bawumia, who is widely expected to win the position of flagbearer, stated that everyone must run a moral campaign in order to accomplish the task that awaits the party in 2024.
