In less than two weeks, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) office in Sagnarigu has experienced two more acts of vandalism.
Some party youth are said to have committed the act.
According to Citi News sources in the Sagnarigu constituency, the vandalism that occurred today was in response to allegations that the executives of the constituency had stolen fertilizer intended for distribution to the party’s supporters.
On Friday, July 21, a few irate NPP supporters in the district vandalized the local party office.
The young people claimed that the constituency executives prevented them from picking up nomination forms for a Dr. Wahab Alhassan because they wanted Felicia Tettey, the 2020 candidate, to be the only one running.

One of the irate supporters, Abdallah Murjana, admitted that there were issues and errors from the 2020 elections that were not addressed and were being repeated.
In a related news, following National Council approval, the NPP has announced a new dues payment system for its members.
At a press conference on Tuesday, the party chairman, Stephen Ayesu Ntim, revealed this information and said the decision was made at a meeting on July 20, 2023.
This decision, he said, is to restructure the membership dues in order to strengthen the party’s finances, increase recruitment efforts, and improve the welfare of party members.
“The party’s constitution enjoins all members to pay dues and also make donations to sustain the party and ensure its growth.
“In NPP when we say a member in good standing, we are referring to a party member who has been paying his or her dues fully as required,” he said.
According to him, the new membership dues structure is more practical, open, and effective, and it includes a method of payment and a procedure to ensure accountability.
