A 24-year-old student of the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) in the Sunyani almost his lost precious life in the hands of some merciless mob.
The student identified as William Thompson a level 300 student of UENR was mistaken for a thief by his fellow students in a different hostel he had gone to ease himself in the one of the washrooms.
According to a UTV reporter, the incident occurred in of the hostels of UENR in the late hours at around 10p.m on one of days during their SRC Week Celebrations.
William Thompson had told his friends he was going to visit the washroom around them only to be arrested by some four students who mistook him for a thief and nearly lynch him to death.
Luckily, for him, he was saved by his friends who had waited long for him to return from visiting the washroom.

According to the victim, he explained to the mob he is also a student of the university but the mob would not listen to him because he failed to show them his student ID card.
According to the mob, almost everyday someone sneaks into their rooms to steal their phones, money and laptops, so they assumed he was the thief.
Meanwhile, the university authorities have issued a statement clearing William Thompson of being a thief and they have arrested one of the four of the student who nearly beat their colleague to death while three of the students have run away from campus.
William Thompson could be seen with strips on his back and blood in of of his eyes from the beatings he received from the mob.

In other news, COPEC Fuel prices are expected to rise beginning on August 1. Petrol is expected to cost $13.27 per liter and diesel will cost $13.93.
Duncan Amoah, theChamber Of Petroleum Consumers’ (COPEC) Executive Secretary, claims that the “pump prices of Petrol and Diesel are likely to increase on average by about 9% over the current mean price of GHS11.90/L across the country whilst LPG prices increase by about 20%.”
