After receiving a court order, the late Reverend Anthony Kwadwo Boakye‘s wife imposed an embargo on his funeral.

The founder of Resurrection Power New Generation Church, who had a stroke on February 21, 2023, accused his wife, Obaa Yaa Asantewaa, and family of withholding medical attention before he passed away.

Many controversies emerged during this time, one of which involved CCTV footage showing her slapping a church elder over the offertory.

His family held a press conference at the church’s facilities to address the media after hearing the heartbreaking news of Rev. Anthony Boakye’s passing.

One of Rev. Anthony Boakye’s nieces made some comments while speaking with the media that implied the man of God’s wife was to blame for his passing.

She was about to add more to her remarks when she suddenly became possessed by the holy spirit and was quickly taken away by some of the other family members present.

After Mrs. Boakye declined to show up before Otumfour Osei Tutu’s Ankobiahene when she was summoned, she was subsequently forbidden from attending her husband’s funeral, which was scheduled for August 5, and from performing any widowhood rites.

The elders claim that before the late preacher could be laid to rest, the Ankobiahene invited Obaa Yaa Asantewaa to a meeting so that they could resolve their differences.

However, she failed to show up on the scheduled meeting day and made no effort to explain why she couldn’t attend, which led the Ankobiahene to ban her.

In a recent development brought on by tensions within Rev. Anthony Boakye’s family, his mortal remains have been placed under a court order.

This means that until all outstanding legal matters in the family are settled, neither the body nor his burial may be claimed by any members of the family.

Amidst the brouhaha, daughter of the late Rev. Anthony Boakye has come out to send a strong warning to Obaa Yaa Asantewaa who plans to cause commotion if they should go ahead to bury the pastor without her consent.

According to her, her late father is the apple of God and for that reason God has decided to bring judgement on anyone who intends to stop the family from holding the funeral of the late pastor,
