At a national vote held in Cape Coast, Mr. Gyimah Boafo, the president of the Ghana Red Cross Society, was re-elected.
Dr. Edward Donkoh, vice president, Mrs. Adwoa Sarpong Bonsu, health adviser, Mr. John Kwame Fosu, treasurer, Mr. Solomon Gyakye, legal adviser, Mr. Abdul Razak, national youth organizer, and Mr. Emmanuel Yeboah Gyan, public relations officer are the other elected executives.
The five council members are Mr. Patrick Asante Nuro, Mr. James Kuunsaana Donkor, Mr. Franklin Odaw Ntow, Mr. Gabriel Amihere, and Mr. Gorden Kojo Mensah.
The new executives will serve for 24 months. Its vision is to prevent and lessen human suffering by mobilizing the power of humanity.
In his victory speech following the election, Mr. Gyimah Boafo thanked the 52 delegates for placing their trust in him as the top provider of volunteer-based humanitarian services in Ghana.

He urged everyone to put aside their minor disagreements, steer clear of the periphery, and consistently rally behind the Society.
According to Mr. Gyimah Boafo, the Society’s interest should come before any individual or personal interest, and members must foster peace and harmony as a requirement for the Society’s quick development.
“We pledge that the days ahead would be full of hard work.
This needs the full support of all members who are dedicated to the vision, and mission of the Society,” Mr Boafo noted.
In a previous message of solidarity, Mr. Bhupider Tomar, Head of Cluster, West Africa, which includes Ghana, Togo, Benin, and Nigeria, reaffirmed the need for national cohesion and unity among members to lead the Society’s aspirations.
He urged the new administration to improve the lives of the people they are tasked with leading.
They must always act in accordance with the rules that govern the Society, be honest, flexible, and compassionate, and be committed to serving despite the difficulties.
