Kofi Adu-Amoateng has been named the new District Chief Executive (DCE) for Bosome Freho in the Ashanti region by President Nana Akufo-Addo.

Yaw Danso, who was suspended in October 2022 due to his alleged involvement in galamsey activities, is replaced by Mr. Adu-Amoateng.

The appointment of the new DCE is pending assembly member approval.

In light of this, the nominee has been instructed to communicate with the Regional Electoral Commission in order for the confirmation process to proceed by the Minister of Local Government, Decentralization, and Rural Development, Dan Botwe.

    Below is the statement:

In other political news, Edgar Asamoah Boateng, a member of the NDC from the Abuakwa North Constituency, has been suspended, according to the NDC.

The decision was made following a meeting of the Functional Executive Committee (FEC) on Tuesday, July 25, 2023. At the meeting, the FEC discussed the obstacles that prevented the party from holding parliamentary primaries in 17 constituencies nationwide.

The General Secretary of the Party, Fifi Fiavi Kwetey, wrote a letter stating that Mr.’s actions violated Article 49 (1) (d) of the Party’s constitution.

The injunction Mr. Boateng sought against the party’s presidential and parliamentary primaries on May 13, 2023, the party claims, is what prompted the suspension.

Mr. Boateng, a candidate for office in the Abuakwa North constituency, made his decision due to what he claimed to be a lack of a voter’s register.
