The National Intelligence Bureau (NIB) has hired Bugri Naabu’s assistant and receptionist, who previously served as the NPP’s Northern Regional Chairman.

Naabu claims that the two were detained for questioning in relation to an audio recording that called for the firing of Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the Inspector General of Police.

This information was revealed by Bugri Naabu in an interview with Oyerapa TV today, July 20, 2023.

“My personal aide, SK, and my receptionist also called Akua left in the morning that they were going to the office. I came to the office and I couldn’t find them. I started calling them because I got scared but to no avail. I’ve just been informed that they are both at the NIB office at Kawukudi junction. They were picked up while they were on their way to the office. I was told they came with a white car and pushed them into the car and whisked them away.”

“I’m appealing to you [the media] and calling some lawyers to get this resolved. I don’t know why they were picked up. The whole of this week, the tape issue came up, but I’ve not spoken about it. I don’t want trouble.”

“Some people are saying that it has a connection with the tape.”

An alleged conversation between Bugri Naabu and a Police Commissioner named COP Mensah was heard in the leaked audio that has since gone viral.

According to the audio, there was a plot to have Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, the IGP, removed in order to rig the upcoming general elections.

Following the news of the arrest of Bugri Naabu’s receptionist and aide, Ghanaians have reacted massively as they drag the NPP over the ongoing scandal.

His personal calls are inside. If he recorded it he wouldn't have allowed that in, says Bugri Naabu. https://t.co/SLyDBaqCic

Bugri Naabu unknowingly implicated himself by authenticating the Voices on the leaked tape… "Even some of my telephone calls were in the tape do you think if I was the one doing the recording I will let my personal matter come inside" 🤣🤣🤣 pic.twitter.com/V1PgmyoT9t

See how unintelligent npp members can be . Bugri Naabu admitted to the authenticity of the audio recordings . So is there any smart person in the npp? A party of dummies pic.twitter.com/ptNNNwoYjb

    Look at this;
    • Bawumia is the chairman of police council.
    • Kennedy Agyapong is the chairman of defense and interior committee in parliament.

These two have decided to ignore the leaked audio of Bugri Naabu and COP Alex George Mensah because they are just useless and supports…

    — KOJO DYNAMIC 𓃵 (@AnnanPerry) July 21, 2023

I don't know why the NPP is disassociating itself from the leaked audio, Bugri Naabu is still a party member of the NPP so if indeed the audio does not have anything to do with the party then what prevents the government from instituting a bipartisan probe into the sad matter?

Why are they picking his personal aid and receptionist but not him and the senior police officer?

Per the interview, Bugri Naabu seems not to be aware those two will be picked up. What are they hiding? Is this a plan to deceive Ghanaians?

Why are they leaving the big fish?? pic.twitter.com/U5sIkFvhGS

People like Bugri Naabu are the ones influencing decisions on how your country is ran. Think about it.
    Good morning.

Bugri Naabu seems to be innocent. There seems to be a game mind here that the Ghanaians don't know but rather following one side. https://t.co/jzbFlHDgNE
