We are all aware that yesterday at the Kotoka International Airport, police detained Blacko.
His being picked up by some security personnel in plain clothes upon his arrival in Ghana was the only information provided when the news first broke.
According to information we’ve gathered, a cruise ship that had paid Black Sherif to perform but failed to show up is to blame for his arrest.
The source claims that the cruise line contacted Mohammed Sharrif’s management to request that Blacko perform at the second iteration of its musical cruise, known as Afro Cruise Jam, on August 19, 2023, in Greece.
Gramps Morgan of Morgan Heritage, a Grammy Award winner, and Abrantie Amakye Dede and his Apollo High-Kings performed at the inaugural event, which took place the previous year.
United Talent Agency, also known as Echo Location Talent Agency, the artist’s booking agents, and Cruise People Ltd. further agreed that an initial payment of Twenty Thousand United States Dollars ($20,000) shall be made to the artist to solidify the agreement and in exchange for that, he will record a video confirming his participation and availability for the said show on the cruise ship at the agreed-upon time.
The company carried out the agreed-upon swift bank transfer of the initial deposit to the artist’s London account, and the latter confirmed receipt of payment.
After several emails were exchanged between Cruise People Ltd. and the artist, the company reminded him that they required a video of him performing on the cruise ship on the specified dates.
Due to this, the cruise ship made the decision to inform the police about the artist and his management so that they could take appropriate action.
According to information obtained from other sources, the cruise line believes that Blacko and his management’s behavior is a sign that they will not attend the event, which would damage their reputation.
They also told him that they had scheduled a media appearance with Multimedia Group for Friday, May 19, 2023 at 3 p.m., during which the aforementioned video clip announcing his performance and availability for the event on the cruise ship will be broadcast in order to increase the event’s marketability. But Blacko allegedly declined to carry out his end of the bargain.
We patiently await word from the Black Sherif camp so we can assess their approach to the situation and determine the best course of action.
