The company responsible for the arrest of Black Sherif, the current Vodafone Ghana Music Awards Artist of the Year, has issued a statement regarding the arrest.

In accordance with their statement, they hired Mohammed Sharrif, aka Black Sherrif, and his management to perform at the second iteration of their musical cruise, called Afro Cruise Jam, on board a cruise ship on August 19, 2023, in Greece.

Gramps Morgan of Morgan Heritage, a Grammy Award winner, and Abrantie Amakye Dede and his Apollo High-Kings performed at the inaugural event, which took place the previous year.

Cruise People Ltd was charged Forty Thousand United States Dollars ($40,000); and was further agreed between Cruise People Ltd., the artiste and his booking agents (United Talent Agency a.k.a Echo Location Talent Agency) that an initial payment of Twenty Thousand United States Dollars ($20,000) shall be paid to him to firm up the agreement and in return he will record a video confirming his participation and availability for the said show on the cruise ship at the agreed dates.

Despite everything, he failed to uphold his end of the bargain, which caused them to lose, and they repeatedly tried to contact the musician and his management with no luck.

They added that even as far back as May, their attorneys wrote to the musician’s management asking for a justification for the action, but neither the musician nor his management have responded to them as of yet.

According to the statement, this helped them decide to contact the police so they could take serious action against Blacko.

    Read the following sentence:

Meanwhile, we are all aware that yesterday at the Kotoka International Airport, police detained Blacko.

His being picked up by some security personnel in plain clothes upon his arrival in Ghana was the only information provided when the news first broke.

According to information we’ve gathered, a cruise ship that had paid Black Sherif to perform but failed to show up is to blame for his arrest.
