Former Kumasi Asante Kotoko player Kabiru Imoro passed away after collapsing during a neighborhood football game.
On Tuesday, July 18, the striker passed out during the game in his native Akwatia, Ghana’s Eastern Region.
All attempts to revive him on the field reportedly failed, and he died.
Saddick Adams, a sports journalist, tweeted the tragic news that Kabiru Imoro had died after collapsing during a neighborhood soccer match close to his home.
A family member, Hashmiu Moro, confirmed the tragic occurrence.
“Former Asante Kotoko, Medeama SC and RTU striker Kabiru Moro has passed on this evening in his hometown Akwatia.
“His family member Hashmiu Moro confirmed on Angel Sports Kabiru collapsed while playing community football near his house,” Saddick Adams wrote in a Twitter post.
