John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, a candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearership, asserts that he is the most qualified candidate to win the position.

He claims that in order to promote unity within the NPP, he sacrificed his political career in 2007 by resigning so that Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo could run in the 2008 presidential election.

Speaking to NPP representatives and supporters in the Volta region, Alan said “I made the greatest political sacrifice in the history of Ghana’s politics by stepping down for Nana Addo. It was in the supreme interest of the NPP to foster unity.”

He claimed that he has positive messages for the Ghanaian people and is the only marketable candidate for the NPP to win the presidency in 2024.

He asserted that the selection of candidates, messaging, and campaign tactics by all political parties will be key factors in determining the results of the elections.

The selection of a candidate to lead the NPP, according to Alan, will be based on who can garner the support of the electorate.

He added that voters will elect a candidate with a strong track record of integrity, competence, and commitment to the welfare of the people will have a higher chance of winning the electorate’s support.

He said credibility is a key factor that voters consider when making their decision at the polls.

In a related news, Alan gave the Volta region’s residents the assurance that, should they support him in his bid for the presidency, he would be willing to assume the role of the late President Jerry John Rawlings as their godfather.

Popularly known as Alan Cash, Mr. Kyerematen claimed that the late President Rawlings’ charisma could be seen in him and pleaded with the people of Volta to love him as much as they loved the late President in order to help him lead the country and make sure that the Region receives its fair share of the national pie.
