Former Deputy Organizer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Mahdi Muhammed Jibril, said that if Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is chosen to contest for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2024 presidential election, then the NDC will save at least some resources.
According to him, he will be the “happiest person in this world,” if the “Mahama-Bawumia” presidential campaign takes place.
Mahdi Jibril is very confident the NDC will regain power in 2024, but if the NPP wins the Bawumia ticket it will be a “cool chop” for the largest opposition.
Mahdi Jibril said no Ghanaian would want to elect a liar like Bawumia as president, so he would be a good bait for John Mahama.
Dr Bawumia is looking to be the party’s next flag bearer for the 2024 election.
He has entered the race with nine others who had already passed the vetting process.

In a related news, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, vice president, has urged NPP members to choose him as their party’s nominee for president in the general elections of 2024.
He claims that he has the experience necessary to both lead the party and defeat the former president John Dramani Mahama.
He claims that having defeated the former president twice, he will be able to defeat him once more in the 2024 elections, enabling the party to “break the 8.”
As a result, the Vice President urged the delegates to support him heavily in the primary elections.
He insisted that he is the most qualified person to defeat John Dramani Mahama, the flagbearer for the NDC.
“As we go for the presidential primaries. We need someone who can help us retain. We need a selfless leader to lead the party and not a richer man. We need someone who has humility. We need someone who has a track record. We need someone who has the temperament. We need someone who has innovative ideas and has tolerance for everyone.”
