Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has received an endorsement from Yaw Osei Adutwum, Minister of Education and Member of Parliament for the Bosomtwe Constituency in Ashanti Region.
Dr Adutwum’s endorsement comes ahead of a special college vote that will select five out of 10 candidates for the ruling party’s presidential primaries in November this year.
According to the Education Minister, Dr. Bawumia has a kind heart and gave his life for the NPP, adding that he [Bawumia] stood up for the hard workers of the Bosomtwe and understand education as well as socioeconomic development.
Dr Bawumia, he said, would be a better president for Ghana.
Adutwum said during an endorsement meeting in Abountem, where he urged Bosomtwe delegates to vote massively for the vice president to lead NPP in the 2024 general elections.
He claimed that thanks to the kindness of Presidents Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Bawumia, the name of Bosomtwe District was revived and spread throughout the country.
According to him, the current constituency has many schools where he personally sent 150 students to university to study engineering and medicine.
He pointed out that in the next ten years, “our people will be working in various hospitals across the country.”
Relatively, former Deputy Organizer of the NDC, Mahdi Muhammed Jibril, said that if Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is chosen to contest for the NPP in the 2024 presidential election, then the NDC will save at least some resources.
According to him, he will be the “happiest person in this world,” if the “Mahama-Bawumia” presidential campaign takes place.
Mahdi Jibril is very confident the NDC will regain power in 2024, but if the NPP wins the Bawumia ticket it will be a “cool chop” for the largest opposition.
Mahdi Jibril said no Ghanaian would want to elect a liar like Bawumia as president, so he would be a good bait for John Mahama.
Dr Bawumia is looking to be the party’s next flag bearer for the 2024 election.
