In a related news, according to a Global Info Analytics poll, 54% of Ghanaian voters want the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be led by Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen in the 2024 elections.
The survey results demonstrate Alan Kyerematen’s appeal and popularity among floaters.
In contrast, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, the current Vice President, was favored by 46% of respondents.
The important findings were shared by Mussa Dankwa, the Executive Director of Global Info Analytics, who said: “The big story is that Alan is the preferred choice of floating voters.
“He’s popular amongst floating voters. Alan has been consistent throughout. Amongst all Ghanaian voters, 54% of them said they will vote for Alan, they said they prefer Alan. 46% said they will prefer Dr. Bawumia.”
The survey, which was completed between June 30 and July 7, 2023, also found that 45% of NPP supporters preferred Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia to be the party’s leader. This shows a change in the party’s base of support.
Kennedy Agyapong was the third-most popular option when Mussa Dankwa discussed the poll’s implications.
He emphasized that in the event of a run-off election during the primaries, the majority of Kennedy Agyapong’s supporters would probably support Alan Kyerematen.
Dankwa also anticipated difficulties for Dr. Bawumia in the event of a run-off.
