Following the overturn of a fuel tanker truck this morning, there has been a heavy vehicle holdup on the Accra-Tema Motorway.
Commuters have complained that the prolonged delay has made getting out of their cars difficult.
In order to get the fuel tanker out from under the bridge, the road is blocked.
Although no fatalities have been reported, it is unknown what may have caused the accident.
Accra commuters traveling to Tema have been urged to take the beach road.

On Friday, July 7, the renovated Kwame Nkrumah Memorial Park (KNMP) in Accra will be temporarily shut down until Tuesday, July 11, 2023.
The park will be closed to allow for preparations for its commercial operations, according to a statement from Mr. Edward Quao, the park’s acting director.
“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience caused, and we are committed to delivering a remarkable experience that exceeds the expectation of the community and visitors,”
On Tuesday, July 4, 2023, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo officially opened the renovated Park.
He predicts that the renovated park will draw about a million domestic and foreign visitors each year.
Including that the government will keep making investments in the tourism industry to support economic recovery.
The building where Dr. Kwame Nkrumah and his wife, Fathia Nkrumah’s remains are kept is situated on the former polo grounds in Accra, where Ghana’s independence was proclaimed, and it underwent a $3.5 million renovation.
