Deputy National Communication Director of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), Jennifer Oforiwaah Queen has descended heavily on Member of Parliament for Tamale Central, Ibrahim Murtala Muhammad over his altercation with Ursula Owusu-Ekuful, a Member of Parliament for Ablekuma West.
Recall, InsighNewsgh.com previously reported that the Minister of Communications and Digitization and Murtala Muhammad nearly exchanged blows in Parliament during the debate on the Human Sexual Rights and Ghanaian Family Values Bill (LGBT+), 2021.
Murtala allegedly whispered at the back that Ursula practiced same-sex marriage, and Ursula’s response seemed to deviate from the general condemnation of the act.
He did not speak into the microphone, so it was impossible to consider what she said to be an official statement, but Ursula claimed to have heard it.
She allegedly indicated that Murtala was crazy in her response as well.
Following this, Jennifer Oforiwaah Queen reacting to the issue during a panel discussion on UTV called out Murtala Muhammad for using his masculine to bully women.
According to her, it is high time some Ghanaian men start respecting women in this country.
She argued that the society has given men so much power that some bully women and when a woman retaliate they tag her as a disrespectful person. She added that a lot of women face such experience all in the name of politics.
Jennifer Oforiwaah Queen opined that if these things continue many women will lose the interest in politics.

Relatively, the second Deputy Speaker asked Cassiel Ato Forson, the Minority Leader, to urge his colleague to withdraw after he refused to do so.
Murtala then claimed that for the sake of peace, he had withdrawn all of his statements.
Ursula apparently lost her cool after his apology and repeated what Murtala had allegedly said for everyone to hear.
Later, she apologized if her remarks had also offended her colleague MP.
