With Chelsea, Manchester United has agreed to pay up to £60 million to acquire Mason Mount.
United agreed to pay an initial fee of £55 million plus $5 million in challenging add-ons despite having had a third offer worth £55 million rejected last week.
The clubs are about to finish up the paperwork, and Mount has been given permission to complete a medical and finalize personal terms.

Chelsea responded with a counteroffer of £58 million plus £7 million in add-ons after United had warned the west London club that they would not go above their improved £55 million offer and were considering alternatives.
But it seems like the clubs’ discussions have finally resulted in a solution that benefits everyone.
Although Mount still had a year left on his Stamford Bridge contract, contract talks stalled, and Chelsea was eager to honor the England international’s wishes regarding a potential departure.
The 24-year-old Chelsea academy graduate has 195 club appearances and 33 goals since making his first-team debut in 2017.
Between 2017 and 2019, he spent two seasons on loan at Vitesse Arnhem and Derby County before becoming a regular in the first team during Frank Lampard’s first stint at Chelsea.
Mount struggled with a pelvic injury toward the end of the 2022–23 campaign and was unable to attend Chelsea’s match against Newcastle United on the season’s final day.
On other Man United transfer news, Inter Milan’s goalkeeper, Andre Onana could become ten Hag’s second signing this summer should the club announce Mount’s imminent move to the Red Devils.
In a latest development, reports from Italy claim man United is prepared to pay £50 million plus £10 add-ons for the Cameroonian stopper to replace David de Gea, whose contract expires on Friday, June 30.
In addition, according to Chief reporter at Manchester Evening News, Samule Luckhurst, Erik ten Hag is against Man United sending Mason Greenwood on loan. According to him, the manager wishes to keep Greenwood in his squad for the upcoming season.
Finally, Sky Italia reporter and transfer expert, Di Marzio reports that Man United is interested in Benfica young midfielder Joao Neves.
