The last rites for Victoria Dapaah, also known as Maa Adwoa in Adum, who was killed by her alleged boyfriend, are currently being performed.
The mother-of-one was fatally shot five times in April at the forecourt of Dufie Towers in Adum, Kumasi, by Inspector Ahmed Twumasi, alias Tycoon, for an undetermined reason.
Families, friends, and sympathizers have flocked to the funeral home in their hundreds to pay their final respects as she is laid to rest today.
As pallbearers carried Maa Adwoa’s casket to the Adum Police to protest her homicide and demand justice from the authorities, shocking scenes ensued.
Just a few hours ago, the former police officer who has had all of his titles and positions removed admitted to committing the heinous crime during his first trial at Asokore Mampong Circuit Court.
He admitted in his charge sheet that he had no desire to murder Maa Adwoa.
He claimed that he had asked Maa Adwoa to meet him at the entrance to Dufie Towers (Adum-Kumasi) to return the GHS 5000 he had lent her, but that instead, the two got into a heated argument, which ultimately led to the murder.
He claims that before seeing his girlfriend on that terrible day, he had no intentions of killing anyone, so he is unable to explain what exactly motivated him to commit such a heinous crime.
He mentioned that God is the only one who has complete knowledge of what transpired on that particular day.
