Kennedy Agyapong, a flagbearer candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has pledged to combat corruption if chosen as the party’s nominee and elected president of Ghana in the general elections of 2024.

If he is elected president, there will be no tolerance for corruption or actions that are related to it.

Kennedy Agyapong claimed that would guarantee public officials’ accountability and bring about the desired development for Ghanaians.

On June 21, 2023, Kennedy Agyapong spoke to the media after submitting his nomination paperwork at the party headquarters, “I believe in accountability. If God gives me the nod, he (pointing at his Campaign Manager) will be the Chief of Staff. Listen to me very carefully, one strike and he is out. Ghana first, and he comes second.

“If he does anything against this country, I will fire him. That is the only way we can move this country forward. So, can you imagine if I have fired my Chief of Staff? The rest would sit up because even if the Chief of Staff has been fired, what about me the director, what about me the manager? It trickles down and we become disciplined.”

He also gave the youth of Ghana the assurance that he would address the issue of unemployment in the nation.

He claimed that in order to address the issue of youth unemployment that the nation is facing, he would prioritize job creation, noting that unemployment has long been a major problem for the government and various administrations.

Kennedy Agyapong pleaded with delegates and all Ghanaians, to “have faith in me that there is a new dawn that is going to change this country.”
