Cynthia Quarcoo has a developed sensitivity to the distinctive cultural and political challenges across different countries as the founding partner of two Ghanaian law firms and an experienced in-house lawyer to a number of international companies.
She is an expert at advising companies that are opening up in emerging markets and is well-versed in corporate, commercial, and intellectual property law as well as international trade.
Cynthia Quarcoo has experience starting businesses and consulting firms as well as working with multinational corporations on cross-border mergers, acquisitions, financing, and re-financing.
Cynthia is credited with being the first attorney in Ghana to create a practice area specifically for entertainment, sports, and media. She still represents athletes and artists in Ghana. A “who’s who” of top performing talent in Africa makes up her clientele. She served the Musicians Union of Ghana for two years as legal counsel in a pro bono capacity.
Cynthia founded Africa 1 Media with the express purpose of assisting talented and motivated aspirant Africans in realizing their dreams and aspirations. Africa 1 Media wants to increase the commercial value of its clients’ companies so that they can reach the largest possible audience and reap the greatest financial benefits.
The now-deceased attorney served as co-counsel for the Ministry of Finance on the successful 2021 USD 3 billion Government of Ghana (GOG) Sovereign Bond in addition to his work in the entertainment and sports industries.
In addition, Cynthia Quarcoo is known to have served as co-counsel for the Ministry of Finance during the successful 2020 sale of the Government of Ghana (GOG) Sovereign Bond, valued at USD 3 billion.
