A police officer was attacked and shot by unidentified assailants at Ablekuma Fanmilk on Thursday in a daring robbery.
Witnesses at the scene claim that the bullion van was attacked by the four armed robbers in a black car not long after it had parked at the Star Oil Fuel Station close to the ECG office in Ablekuma Fanmilk.
The robbers specifically targeted the police officers inside the van during the altercation, shooting one of them in the shoulder and abdomen, killing him.
The attackers and the on-duty police officers stationed at the gas station exchanged about 15 gunshots.

According to reports, the robbers were successful in their operations and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
The fact that the incident allegedly took place while all cameras were offline due to maintenance work complicates matters further.
Authorities are looking for the driver of the bullion van; his whereabouts are currently unknown.
The injured officer was quickly taken to the hospital for medical attention in the interim. To gather information and assess the situation, additional police officers have arrived at the crime scene.
