At the Mile 7 police station in Accra, a report of wrongful possession of property has been made against Asamoah Gyan and Baffour Gyan, two renowned football players from Ghana.
The two brothers, who are the proprietors of the sachet water company Paradise Mineral Water Company, are said to have been reported to the police by a businessman by the name of Emmanuel Bonfeh for allegedly stealing his Articulator truck, according to a Friday, June 16, 2023, publication of the New Crusading Guide.
According to the report’s specifics, the truck is the subject of a legal dispute between the Gyan brothers and a businessman with a foreign address who also happens to be a friend of Emmanuel Bonfeh, the truck’s original owner.
The truck, which cost an estimated over GHc400,000, was reportedly seen at the Paradise Mineral Water Company’s Hebron, off the Accra-Kumasi road, purified water production facility.
After making the discovery, the businessman informed the Mile 7 police about the sachet water manufacturer’s owners, which resulted in the invitation of Baffour Gyan, the older of the two brothers.
According to the report, Baffour Gyan claimed that he ordered the truck to be impounded after a man with whom he had a business agreement broke his commitments.
Emmanuel Domfeh, the rightful owner of the car, described the entire incident to the media, “I went into an agreement with a friend abroad-big Akwes-and we both agreed on payments in installments for the truck. I am the owner of the truck. he gave me a cheque which bounced. I realized that the guy had breached our deal, so I decided to look for him and my vehicle. I, therefore, traced the truck and found it at the premises of Asamoah Gyan’s Paradise Mineral Water Company.”
After being detained, Baffour was released on self-recognizance bail with the promise to return the truck to its rightful owner the following day.
However, the police made it clear to Baffour Gyan that his actions were illegal and told him to bring the truck back to the police station so that I could get it, but he’s been defiant,” the man said.
According to the report, Baffour Gyan vehemently denied the allegation of theft and claimed the truck was parked on the company’s property for the purpose of loading sachet water bags.
