Afeez Agoro Oladimeji, Nigeria’s tallest man and actor, has passed away. The 48-year-old passed away on Wednesday night at the Lagos University Teaching Hospital (LUTH) following a protracted illness.
In a tweet posted on Thursday, well-known Twitter influencer Pamilerin Adegoke announced the man’s passing.
Agoro’s passing was announced via Twitter by Adegoke, who wrote: “Nigerian tallest man Afeez Agoro Oladimeji is dead after suffering from prolonged sickness.”
Oladimeji, who was born in Sabo Yaba, Lagos State, and stood 2.25 meters (7 feet 4 inches) tall, passed away after eight months of bed rest.
Agoro’s burial arrangement has commenced at his residence in Community road, Akoka.
The day after he recovered from a hip replacement, on May 28, Agoro made his final post to Facebook.
He posted: “Thank God Almighty for a successful operation now it’s time for therapy.”
Agoro underwent hip rehabilitation under the care of his personal physician, Dr. Dike.
Agoro was intimidatingly tall, drawing attention wherever he went until he died. His height was 7 ft 4 in.
The chairman Akoka CDA, Segun Adesanya confirmed his demise.
He said: “Afeez Agoro lives on community road and it’s sad we lost a promising young man. May his soul rest in peace.”
