John Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen, a prospective flagbearer for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has turned in his nomination paperwork to the Accra-based party headquarters.

In addition to former general secretary Kwabena Ohene Ntow and deputy finance minister Abena Osei Asare, he was accompanied by Peter Amewu, minister of railways development, and by some members of parliament, including Sylvester Tetteh of Bortianor Ngleshie Amanfrom and Daniel Ansah Opoku of Mpraeso.

Speaking to the media after submitting his nomination paperwork, Mr. Kwadwo Kyerematen said it would be an honor for him to lead the NPP in breaking the 8-year streak for the party.

The former trades minister declared that he is certain to win the forthcoming primaries.

“It’s with the greatest pleasure that I submit to you my nomination forms duly completed to contest for the flagbearership of our great party. It will be an honor and privilege for me to lead this great party to a historic victory in December 2024. And usher Ghana into a new era of stability, growth, and prosperity,” he noted.

In a related news, before the general election in 2024, the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has a message for Ghanaians, according to vice president Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.

On Saturday, June 10, Dr. Bawumia spoke at the NPP International Women’s Conference in London. He outlined the accomplishments of the government over the years.

He pointed out that the NPP government, since taking office in 2017, has done incredibly well with many landmark achievements, despite the global factors that have hit several economies around the world in the previous three years. He acknowledged, however, that there is still more to be done.

This comes after Alan Kyerematen, a potential flagbearer and former minister of trade, said that the party had no platform for the 2024 elections.
