Ghanaians are paying attention to a trending social media video that shows President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s moment of intense emotion during the commemorative tree-planting activities on Green Ghana Day.
In the video, President Akufo-Addo can be seen directing Henry Quartey, the regional minister for the Greater Accra region, to act right away after appearing to be provoked.
The aforementioned incident took place on June 9 at the University of Ghana, where dignitaries had gathered to celebrate the launch of Green Ghana Day.
Attendees proudly stood during the performance of the national anthem to show their patriotism. However, as the anthem came to a close, President Akufo appeared visibly upset and sternly ordered Henry Quartey to handle a situation that allegedly occurred during the anthem recitation.
