Kofi Adjorlolo, a well-known Ghanaian actor, recently spoke with McBrown on Onua Showtime and shared his admiration for King Promise, a rising star, and the profound influence that his hit song “CCTV” had on him.
Adjorlolo, who has a strong background in music and radio hosting, stated that upon first hearing the track, he was immediately enthralled by King Promise’s talent and distinctive style, which gave him goosebumps.
Kofi Adjorlolo recalled seeing the music video for “CCTV,” in which King Promise made an appearance on a train or in a setting similar to that, when he first encountered the artist.
Adjorlolo noticed the emergence of fresh talent in the music scene at this time.
“The first time he came out, he did a video where he was on a train or something, that’s ‘CCTV.’ I got goosebumps, and that’s when I knew there was another guy on the scene. Since then, I’ve been following him,” Adjorlolo shared.
Adjorlolo was also drawn to King Promise’s brand because of the artist’s similarity to him in terms of hairstyle, which is bald. This similarity in appearance made King Promise even more endearing to the seasoned actor, fostering a stronger bond and greater respect for his work.
“And the image that makes him unique, do you want to know? His bald haircut is just like mine. I love this guy so much, and I don’t have anything else to say,” Adjorlolo made a joke about exposing his bald head by playfully taking off his hat, which made the audience in the studio laugh.
The Nollywood legend was gracious in his praise of King Promise, who is well-known for his soulful voice and heartfelt lyrics. The talented singer, whose real name is Gregory Promise Bortey Newman, quickly made a name for himself as one of Ghana’s most promising musicians.
Music lovers, including seasoned individuals like Kofi Adjorlolo, who recognized his undeniable talent and distinctive artistic expression, were drawn to his breakthrough hit, “CCTV.”
