According to Torgbui Agbodzalu Amuzu, the Fiator of Nogokpo, the town, its residents, and the imposing shrine must not be disrespected because Nogokpo is still considered to be the spiritual entrance to Ghana.

He cautioned that although the residents of the well-known town in the Volta Region are friendly and peaceful, they will no longer tolerate unwarranted criticism from people who have little familiarity with the area.

“Nogokpo remains the gateway to Ghana and no one can challenge that,” myjoyonline.com quotes the traditional leader as saying.

His statement comes in response to the subsequent uproar caused by Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, the founder of Perez Chapel International, who claimed that Nogokpo was the demonic region’s administrative center.

Agyinasare’s remarks about the town and the area as a whole were offensive, and Torgbui Agbodzalu Amuzu urged those who don’t know much about Nogokpo to seek accurate information that he must come down from the high horses and apologise.

“I really don’t know what exactly these Christian leaders are teaching their members, especially the younger generation, and the religious studies in schools what exactly are school children learning?” he lamented.

He responded to the Perez Chapel’s one-week fast by saying that it makes it abundantly clear that Agyinasare and his followers have chosen spiritual warfare over taking the necessary action.

“Who are they declaring the one-week fasting and prayers for and the unfortunate comments by Nana Agradaa and some supporters of the Archbishop, what exactly do they want?”

Torgbui Agbodzalu Amuzu further warned that the people of Nogokpo would now stand their ground because they had had enough of the needless disrespect and denigration they had received from most Christians.
