A few days ago, a video from Crime Check TV showed how 64-year-old Isaac Odoom was given a 12-month prison term for squatting in the vacant home of former Black Stars player John Paintsil.
He described the events that led him to spend the night in the mentioned house in the video.
In an interview with Crime Check TV GH, the elderly man who was serving a 12-month prison sentence at Winneba Local Prison disclosed his involvement in the production and sale of charcoal.
On that fateful day, he continued, he had traveled from his home in Ajumako to Besease for work. Unfortunately, it got late, and since he was unable to return home, a friend offered him a place to stay the night.
He remembered going into the house through the window with his friend, but since it was deserted and empty, he was unable to suspect any wrongdoing.
He discovered that the home he had spent the night in belonged to Paintsil the following day.
John Painstil expressed his displeasure over the former’s decision to free the man after Ibrahim Kwarteng contacted him to confirm the man’s claims.
John Painstil contends that individuals must serve time in prison in order to atone for their crimes by serving their full jail sentence.
In an angry exchange with Ibrahim Kwarteng, a coworker of Christian Atsu‘s before his shocking death, John Painstil implied that Atsu perished as a result of releasing criminals from jail before they had finished their sentences.
According to John Painstil, Atsu’s premature death was caused by the curses pronounced by the victims of the prisoners.
