Wendy Shay of Ruff Town Record has used her social media channels to denounce other Ghanaian musicians who plagiarize music.

The musician admitted that she has personally endured the “betrayal” of having two different instances of her colleagues stealing her melodies.

Wendy Shay expressed her annoyance in a post that she published on Saturday, June 3.

She wrote, “You send a song to a GH artiste for a feature. Next thing you know, your melodies are in their new song! This is the second time it’s happened to me… thieves! Ghanaian artists, wake up!”

Rapper Edem backed up Wendy Shay’s assertion by saying, “I know the artiste,” to support her claim.

Since making her musical debut in 2018 with “Uber Driver,” Wendy Shay has left a lasting impression on the music industry and won over fans with songs like “Bedroom Commando,” “Astalavista,” “The Boy is Mine,” “Cut It,” and “Survivor.”

The discovery made by Wendy Shay serves as a wake-up call for the Ghanaian music industry, bringing attention to the problem of song theft and highlighting the need for artists to be aware and honest.
