The Executive Council of Perez Chapel International has announced a one-week fasting and prayers over the Nogokpo controversy.

This comes after the Chiefs and people of Nogokpo in the Ketu South Municipality gave Archbishop Charles Agyinasare, the founder of Perez Chapel International, 14 days to appear before the traditional leaders.

The call to summon the celebrated preacher came after a video of him describing the town as the Volta Region’s demon headquarters went viral on social media.

However, earlier, the General Overseer stated that he had no intention of disparaging specific groups of people or communities, and that “any misrepresentation or misinformation that has characterised the subsequent commentary and reportage” was regrettable.

Meanwhile, the Chiefs insist that if the man of God does not appear before them, they will be forced to take further action.

They believe that the Archbishop must do the right thing after tarnishing the town’s image.

In a latest development on the Nogokpo brouhaha, Rt Rev. Ohene Benjamin Aboagye, the Presiding Bishop addressing the congregation during church service declared a week of intense fasting with prayers to support Bishop Agyinasare on his fight against the traditional leaders of the native town.

“Last month during the supernatural empowerment summit, In his preaching he made a statement or phrase concerning the Nogokpo issue. I think all of us are not strangers in Ghana about what’s trending on social media and other places. But we from the Perez Chapel International, the Executive Council have taken recognition of all those things and this is what we are saying. We are declaring a one week fast from the 5th to 11th of this month and we expect all pastors, elders, deacon, deaconess and all our churches to go through this fast for one week. We believe God is our helper, he’s our rock and we look up to him,” Rt Rev. Ohene Benjamin Aboagye said in his address.
