Brazilian forward, Neymar Jnr. has been linked with a move to Manchester United in the past few weeks after it was reported that the star is likely to leave France this summer.
Previously, the Brazilian superstar has reportedly been given permission to leave Paris Saint-Germain this summer and is interested in moving to the Premier League, according to reports in France on Monday night.
According to L’Equipe, Manchester United, Chelsea, and Newcastle were all interested in signing the player on a one-year loan.
They proposed that, rather than paying a transfer fee, his suitors pay his £606,000 weekly salary.
While Chelsea have become the early favorites—thanks, Todd Boehly—it was claimed that United, with Casemiro playing a key role in the plot, was attempting to sabotage the deal.
In a latest development to this rumour, the only team Paris Saint-Germain forward, Neymar Jnr. will think about joining is Manchester United.
Another report claims that, Neymar has partnerships/contracts with Qatar and the Qatar brand, these relationships favour a possible move to Man United if the club is bought by Sheikh Jassim.
Meanwhile, Manchester United manager, Erik ten Hag responding to the viral rumour neither confirmed nor denied it.
Erik ten Hag during his pre-match conference was asked if Neymar is a transfer target for Man United, the manager said, “When we have news… we will tell you.”
In a related news, Anthony Martial, a forward for Manchester United, will be unavailable for the upcoming FA Cup final against Manchester City due to injury.
This weekend’s Manchester derby between United and City will take place at Wembley, the home of football. In addition to finishing third in the Premier League, Erik ten Hag’s team wants to end the season with a second trophy to ensure that Old Trafford will once again host Champions League games in the future.
However, United will have to do it without the 27-year-old’s assistance after the team announced that he will miss the Wembley showcase due to a hamstring injury. It persisted toward the end of the 2-1 victory over Fulham at Old Trafford last weekend.
Ten Hag is now faced with the decision of who will lead the line for United at Wembley.
The only two remaining fit options in that area are Marcus Rashford and Wout Weghorst.
