Ernest Yaw Anim, a candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has been proclaimed the winner of the Kumawu by-election by the Ghanaian Electoral Commission (EC).

Following this resounding victory in just-ended Kumawu by-election, the newly elected MP for the constituency addressing the media after the win said his ability to pull the party members helped him win by a landslide.
“The unity I brought into the party has translated into the results we just witnessed. When we look at the victory I’ve gotten, it is clear that the unity was great. This is landslide. The over 70% votes I had shows that the people of Kumawu believe that I can bring development into the constituency,” he said.
According to him, prior to the by-election he knew in his heart that the NPP would win big but he didn’t want to throw out numbers.
He further added that the victory also indicates that NPP is the only party that can take Ghana to the promise land.
Mr. Yaw Anim said the resounding victory is also sign that NPP is going to break the 8 with ease.
