Earlier on, news went viral that Mahama’s campaign tour of the Savannah region, the former president was accompanied by three people who were injured in an accident.

One of the victims is Christopher Amoako, a journalist for TV3. It’s not yet clear how the accident happened.

Following the accident, which occurred on Thursday in Dartotili, a suburb of Tamale in the Northern Region, the three people suffered a variety of injuries.

The two additional victims are Samed and R.A. Jelil, the Savannah Regional Communications Officer for the NDC.

The team was trying to get to Yapei and Daoboya in the Central and North Gonja Districts after leaving the East and North-East Gonja Districts, but they were unable to do so.

Since then, the injured have been taken to the Tamale Teaching Hospital for medical care.

One of the victims, TV3 reporter Christopher Amoako, was seen being attended to by the former president as he lay on the ground.

Meanwhile, Dr. Kwabena Duffuor has reportedly halted his campaigning as a result of his injunction lawsuit he filed against the NDC’s upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections, according to his spokesperson, Fritz Baffour.

Contrary to some people’s perceptions, he clarified, “the intention was not to interfere or to create a situation for us to campaign.

“Well as a result of the court action that we’ve taken, we have suspended the actual campaigning till we get a nod from the court or after the court proceedings,” he revealed.
