Viral reports emerging from sources close to the process of selling Manchester United indicate that British Billionaire and owner of INEOS, Sir Jim Ratcliffe has emerged as the preferred bidder by the Glazer family.
Earlier on, there were reports that sources involved with the sale process expects a preferred bidder to be identified within days.
Initially, some reports tipped Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim as the potential bidder to buy the club from the Glazer family with full takeover as his plans.
However, according to a multiple reports on social media, insiders at Man United have indicated the Glazer family would prefer to sell majority control to Sir Jim Ratcliffe rather than selling the whole club to Sheikh Jassim.
The report also adds that the preferred bid for the club of Sir Jim Ratcliffe would see Joel and Avram Glazer retain their stakes while the rest of the family cash-out their shares.
Is Man United being sold to the wrong owner
It will be very difficult to say if Sir Jim is the rightful owner to takeover from the Glazer family at this point.
Sir Jim has always maintained that he’s interested in buying the larger shares of the Glazer family while still leaving them 20% shares in the club.
Despite the fact that there have been rumors of a clause allowing him to evict the current owners at a later time.
Man United fans want Sheikh Jassim
It is a no secret a large supporters of Manchester United want the Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim to become the club’s new owner rather than having Sir Jim.
Sheikh Jassim has repeatedly emphasized his intention to fully acquire United, which has been under the Glazers’ control for the better part of two decades.
However, reports claim his most recent offer falls short of their £6 billion asking price.
According to reports, the Red Devils are considering making a record-breaking offer for Benfica forward Goncalo Ramos, who they intend to pair up top with Harry Kane.
Goalkeeper David de Gea of the Red Devils is said to have agreed to an extension of his contract at Old Trafford.
