In the aforementioned report, Prof. Frimpong-Boateng made the allegation that Mr. Otchere-Darko’s intervention resulted in the release of some Chinese who had been detained for illegal mining.
The Inter-Ministerial Committee on Illegal Mining (IMCIM), which was about to prevent Imperial Heritage Mining Company from mining in the forest because it lacked the documents allowing it to do so, allegedly called Prof. Frimpong-Boateng, a relative of President Akufo-Addo, to obstruct its work.
A permanent injunction prohibiting the renowned heart surgeon from using the same or other defamatory words against Mr. Otchere-Darko is what Mr. Otchere-Darko is seeking in addition to a retraction and apology from him.
