Black Sherif, a rapper and singer from Ghana, is looking for help to achieve his dream of winning the top honor at the upcoming Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMA).
Black Sherif, the youngest nominee among seven well-known artists, including Stonebwoy, Sarkodie Camidoh, KiDi, Piesie Esther, Joe Mettle, and King Promise, who are competing for the most prestigious award, VGMA artiste of the year, believes his work from the past year is stronger and will give him the advantage.
The Kwaku the Traveler hitmaker emphasized in a recent post on his Facebook page on May 3, 2023, that he deserved the most coveted award because he had given it his all in the industry even though he hadn’t spoken out since the nominee list was made public.
He wrote: “You’ve seen my blood, sweat & tears. You’ve seen the ups & downs of my journey. I’ve had my lips shut, and my eyes opened ever since I stepped in the game. I don’t plan on changing that, not today, not tomorrow. Let’s go, VGMA.”
Black Sherif is competing in eight additional categories, including Best Hiphop Song of the Year, Most Popular Song of the Year, Album of the Year, Songwriter of the Year, Best Hiplife/Hiphop Artiste of the Year, Best Music Video, Best Reggae/Dancehall Song of the Year, and Best Afropop Song of the Year.
Meanwhile, the Church of Pentecost has rallied a great support behind their member and Deaconess Piesie Esther who has been nominated in the category for the Vodafone Ghana Music Award ‘Artist of the Year.’
