A well-known gospel singer named Empress Gifty has expressed her concern about the rise in young girls who are drawn to married men.
The tragic news that a married police officer had killed his 26-year-old girlfriend served as the impetus for her remarks.
Empress Gifty questioned whether having sex with a married man is any different from having sex with a boyfriend and why young women are so drawn to married men.
“I want to ask if sex with married men is different. How does it feel like? Is it different from the ones you have with your boyfriends’? she asked during a Facebook live video.
But she strongly discouraged women from having these relationships with married men. She forewarned that these men might develop obsessive and insecure tendencies, which could eventually result in violence and even murder.
“If the insecurities start, it’s either they shoot or poison you. He will poison you to death. Anyone who dates a married man should be careful. It’s okay, whatever you have gained is enough. Pack and leave. Unless you tie him down somewhere or use charms on him. He will never leave his wife.
“The first sign to look out for is insecurities. When you start seeing that, leave! The second sign is that he will get abusive. He will start beating you in public and embarrassing you in front of your friends,” she stated.
The gospel singer cautioned women against dating married men and encouraged them to exercise caution. She also cautioned against expecting such relationships to end in marriage.
Empress Gifty advised women to break off a relationship with a married man if he starts acting irrationally or abusively.
Empress Gifty counseled women who were already in such relationships to be cautious and move slowly.
She advised fasting and prayer as a first step, pleading with God to assist the married man in turning away from them. She also counseled women against having sexual relations with the married man.
“With these kinds of relationships, you don’t just end them abruptly. You must be cunning and cautious. Initially, try fasting. Indulge him in the blood of Jesus and pray to God to help him turn people’s attention away from you. Stop having sex with him,” she added.
Empress Gifty ultimately wants young women to value themselves and stay away from relationships that are not beneficial to them.
