In some areas of the Greater Accra Region (GAR), maintenance work will be done, according to a statement from the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG).

ECG claims that the maintenance will help the power distributor deliver services more effectively.

The work is scheduled to begin on Friday, April 21, 2023, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, according to a notice from the power company.

Tesano, Abeka, Alajo, Caprice, North Kaneshie, Santana market, Achobo best, Kouttam, Poly product, Kane em, Duraplast, and Ashfoam are the areas that ECG predicts will be impacted by the exercise.

Qualiplast, Corona, IPNL Romarong, Fowrewin Ghana, Panasonic, Polytex, Poly Craft, Piccadilly, Top Packaging, Deco plast, Innolink, Burger King, Winners Chapel, Volta Garments, and Ghihoc Distillery round out the list of remaining companies.

“ECG regrets the inconvenience that will arise out of this exercise,” the power distributor added.

Relatively, during a routine check, the Electricity Company of Ghana learned that the former president Mahama is responsible for his own bills.

The managing director, Mr. Samuel Dubik Masubir Mahama, claims that Mr. Mahama always pays his debts on time and out of his own pocket.

The MD expressed concern that no one would use the information to gain political advantage during an interview with Kwami Sefa Kayi on Peace FM, but he also showed surprise that a former president would be responsible for his own utility bills.

Samual Mahama pledged that he would bring the matter up with the Chief of Staff and make sure that the state paid the former president’s utility bills.

In a previous interview with Alfred Ocansey of TV3, Mr. Mahama stated that, contrary to popular belief, he pays all of his bills and does not receive any benefits as a former president.

Last month, the national revenue mobilization taskforce of the Electricity Company of Ghana disconnected three blocks at the police barracks at Osu in Accra due to an illegal connection (connected power directly without a meter).
