Money is not a problem for Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, a flagbearer candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

He asserts that he will not be intimidated by his rivals for the NPP flagbearership and claims that he is wealthy enough to defeat any candidate.

The unconventional politician said while addressing NPP attendees in Awutu Senya East in the Central Region, “Whoever thinks he is a man and would want to scare me with money when the time comes, I will show him that I am also a man and that I have riches. I will put on a show here in Awutu Senya East, I will display cash“.

The NPP flagbearer candidate declared that he is committed to a peaceful internal election within the party and added that he would defeat any plot to intimidate him or delegate support for a different candidate.

“So let everyone have patience. We want peace in NPP so we can win the elections but the fact that we want peace does not mean anyone should try and scare us. Nobody can scare you. When it comes to the election vote for whomever you wish to vote for. You have your own mind,” he added.

Recently, Kennedy Agyapong revealed the part he played in helping the party win the majority in Parliament.

Before the party won the majority, he claimed, he had to pay a debt of one million Ghana cedis owed by the then-Constituency Chairman of Fomena.

Speaking to NPP delegates in Tema, Ken Agyapong claimed that it was only through his intervention and the donation of GH1 million that Asiamah Amoako’s condition, which led to his joining the NPP in the House, was fulfilled. Asiamah Amoako is currently the second deputy speaker of parliament.

Relatively, the NPP has decided to hold the presidential primary to choose a flag bearer for the 2024 general elections on November 4, 2023.

The opening and closing dates for the presidential primary in 2023 are Friday, May 26 and Saturday, June 24.

Nominations would become available for the parliamentary primaries on December 20, 2023, and would end on January 4, 2024.

Seven NPP stalwarts have so far announced publicly that they want to be the party’s leader.
