Ashanti Region is one the strongest hold of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Mo matter what any other does for the people of the Ashanti Region, the region has always voted massively for NPP in all elections.
It is on the back of this, the former President John Mahama has called on the people of the Eastern Region to be different from the Ashanti Region.
According to him, the Ashanti are emotionally attached to the NPP, who don’t think before voting.
Mahama cautioned the people not to repeat the same mistake by voting for NPP government which has already led the whole country into a ditch.
He therefore extended an invitation to them to return back to NDC and vote massively for the largest opposition party to regain power in the upcoming 2024 elections.

It is unclear where Mahama was heard saying this but the NDC flagbearer candidate has toured the Eastern Region in the last three days.
Relatively, John Dramani Mahama has thrown shades at the ruling New Patriotic Party amid the economic crisis.
According to the NDC flagbearer candidate, the NPP government is full of less work but more talk.
Mr. John Mahama was speaking to some NDC faithfuls in the Eastern Region as part of 3-day campaign tour to solicit for vote to run for presidential race ahead of the 2024 general polls.
In the video which has gone viral, Mahama was heard throwing some funny jabs to the President Akufo-Addo led government on their failure to turn around the economic mess in the country.
Mahama trolled the NPP government saying God has given them the mouth to talk but they end up doing less work.
He also added that you can never win an argument with a NPP member because no matter what you say they have an excuse for that.
