Former President, now aspiring president John Mahama has said the God of Heaven has told him in person that he would win the 2024 presidential elections and be sworn into office as the President of the Republic of Ghana by January 2025.
“It is God who appoints kings. And no one can change the plans of God. Ignore what some people are saying. It is only God we should listen to. I have faith, I attend church. When I go on my knees and pray, God speaks to me sometimes. God has told me in person this is the NDC’s time and He has given us (political) power,” John Mahama noted on Sunday when speaking to NDC faithful from the Speaking in Akuapem North and South constituencies as part of this campaign tour of the e Eastern Region
John Mahama continued: “When God decides and makes His plans, the bragging and running of the mouth cannot change it. Let’s continue to pray and lets believe that it is the plan of God that would happen. Lets us work hard because victory would be achieved by the hard work in our constituencies. After the primaries, we shall start the training of party agents.”
When he got to Somaya, the Former President was emphatic that he is the most winnable candidate the NDC can present for the 2024 presidential elections as he stands tall among all of the party’s flag-bearer aspirants.
He said “The only person the NPP fears amongst NDC members is me, John Dramani Mahama. They are unable to sleep when they hear my name”, he noted, adding: “That’s why they have been calling for a fresh person”.
“Are you the ones to tell us what we should do? It’s none of your business. I believe God has given us the power already,” he said.
He has consistently bragged that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is afraid of his candidature and has therefore consistently attacked him anytime he speaks but same NPP has ignored the other NDC flag-bearer wannabes
True to his word, Mahama is arguably the most popular among the wannabe NDC flag-bearers and he commands a cult following in the party and beyond.
At the last presidential elections in 2020, John Mahama polled some got 6,214,889 votes representing 47.366 per cent of total valid votes cast but lost to Nana Akufo-Addo of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who polled 6,730,413 votes which represents 51.295 percent of the total valid votes cast.
The incumbent NPP is seeking a third term in a row at the presidency, something no political party has ever done and the task looks even more challenging with the current economic stagnation the country is enduring, and the continuous nature of it.
