President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been directed by Kwame A Plus to a 2014 interview in which the president of Uganda boldly urged Western nations to respect Africa’s decision to fight against homosexuals.

The queer community’s actions, according to President Yoweri Museveni, are repulsive and terrible. He did so after rejecting efforts to make their activities legal in his nation.

“Respect African societies and their values…just like the way we don’t interfere with yours,” Mr Museveni told CNN.

He continued: “..they are disgusting. What sort of people are they?…what they do is terrible, disgusting.”

On April 11, 2023, A Plus chastised Ghana’s president for, unlike his Ugandan counterpart, failing to inform Western nations, such as the United States of America, of Ghana’s firm decision to criminalize the actions of gays and lesbians.

He claimed that Nana Addo is concerned about losing the financial support from Western nations that advocate for minority rights around the world.

“@nakufoaddo, because of nwhehwɛanimu and IMF kakra yebedi nti, your mouth was shaking like a flag mounted at the beach. You could not give a straight answer,” A Plus wrote in an Instagram post.

Although Akufo-Addo did not express the government’s position unequivocally, he acknowledged that a majority of Ghanaians support the passage of the anti-gay legislation and said he would monitor the situation once all the procedures had been completed.

The Anti-Gay Bill, which seeks to decriminalize the behaviors of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, etc. in Ghana, has been championed by MP Sam George.

Meanwhile, the anti-LGBTQ+ bill, which has been with the Constitutional and Legal Affairs Committee of parliament since last year, is now ready to be presented to the house for debate, according to Samuel Nartey George, a member of parliament for Ningo-Prampram.

His admission comes at a time when Vice President Kamala Harris of the United States of America, who is currently on a tour of Africa, has called for respect for the human rights of LGBTQ+ people.
