After Tamale City FC was attacked at Nana Agyemang Badu Park on Sunday, the Ghana Football Association (GFA) imposed a temporary home ban on Aduana FC.

The controversial penalty that Isaac Mintah converted in the 96th minute gave the Dormaa-based team a 1-0 victory over Tamale City.

15 minutes prior to kickoff, Aduana made the unexpected announcement that they had purchased every ticket printed by the GFA, ostensibly leaving none for the opposing team.

In addition, Tamale City was attacked as they were leaving the field after the game, and some of their players suffered injuries after their bus was stoned.

Following the incident last Sunday, Aduana have been temporarily prohibited from using Nana Agyemang Badu Park as their home field, according to a statement from the GFA Executive Council.

    Read the full statement below:

The Executive Council of the Ghana Football Association has ordered a temporary ban on Aduana FC from using the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park as its home venue with immediate effect.

This decision has become necessary due to the unfortunate incidents that occurred after the Match day 25 between Aduana FC and Tamale City FC (outside the park) played on April 2, 2023.

The decision is in accordance with the GFA Premier League Regulations Article 14(2) which states inter alia “the GFA may order the closure of any league centre where the safety of clubs, Match Officials or Spectators cannot be guaranteed.”’

The Competitions Department is therefore advised to determine the venue for the Club’s subsequent home matches in accordance with Article 14(3) Premier League Regulations.

This order is however is without prejudice to the determination of the case pending before the Disciplinary Committee who have been charged to hear the case in accordance with the relevant Regulations.

In other sports news, Graham Potter may have been sacked but the former Brighton manager is definitely going to bag a big money from Chelsea.

Chelsea who are used to sacking managers when they fail to bring in results last night announced the sacking of Graham Potter – a news that was quite surprising to many.

Following their last home 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa on Saturday, on Sunday, April 2, 2023, Chelsea released a club statement confirming Potter’s sacking.
