He claimed that the deceased was taken by ambulance to the Mother and Child Hospital in Lagos, where he later passed away.
In a conversation with BBC, Benjamin Hundeyin, the spokesperson for the Lagos police, confirmed that a probe is being conducted to determine what caused Kambilichukwu’s death.
According to Hundeyin, Yul reported the incident to a police station nearby.
“He has just reported the case and we have started our investigation. By tomorrow, it will be entered into the criminal investigation department. We will investigate what led to the boy’s death,” Hundeyin said.
“There’s a need to carry out an autopsy to know what really happened. We can’t say what happened until the autopsy is done but the incident happened at his school.”
Just about two months after Yul celebrated his 16th birthday, Kambilichukwu passed away.
Pete Edochie said because of his demeanor and character, he already knew he won’t last long on earth.
The veteran actor described his late grandson as quiet, brilliant, and super talented.
“Kambilinachukwu is very quiet, brilliant, and talented child. he’s not somebody you can ride easily. He doesn’t get angry no matter the situation. He was so accomplished. I always tell my son that I don’t like people excelling like this in anything they are involved in. Experience has taught me that such people don’t last long.”
